Marble Nail Art with Nail Hugs

Hey guys!

Today I have really cool nail look for you which is SUPER easy to achieve. I love marble nails (not water marbling, that's a different story altogether!) but they are normally messy enough to do and take a bit of time.

I came across a Facebook page for a brand called Nail Hugs which had really cool nail designs in what seemed to be a decal format. I was intrigued and decided to make an order :)

In each pack you get 3 strips which will cover about 30- 45 nails depending on what size nails you have, an orange wood stick and instructions. I also received 6 packs of alcohol wipes as I bought 3 different designs. Now these are not like your normal decals which can be pretty thick, they are actually extremely thin which means they will be able to fit your nails perfectly even if they are very curved.  These can also be used over regular and gel polish or even alone. I have only tried mine over polish so I don't know how well this works on its own.

To use you simply cut the strip to the size of your nail. It doesn't have to be exact, as long as it completely covers the nail surface and then give yourself a tiny bit extra just in case. You then line it up and press the strip firmly onto the nail. You will see that the design has been transferred when it starts to come away from the backing of the strip. Carefully peel away the rest of the strip and your design should now be on your nail. Seal with either a regular or gel top coat and you should be good to go! Once your top coat is dry, take an alcohol wipe and remove the excess design which will have transferred onto the skin when you were pressing the strip down. The alcohol won't ruin the design if the top is completely dry :)

I decided to paint two thin coats of OPI 'My Boyfriend Scales Walls' which is an off white before applying the transfer. I finished it off with two coats of Seche Vite top coat. They recommend two coats of top coat over your design to make it last longer. Et voila!

And there you have it, marble nails without the mess! Nail Hugs have lots of other designs to choose from and I will definitely be ordering from them again. You can view the collections here. What designs take your fancy and would you use these? Let me know in the comments!

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzers

Hey guys!

I've been so busy with house renovations the past few months I've completely neglected my poor blog :( BUT! I'm still as much a makeup fanatic as I was when I started it so I've been testing out lots of new products for you so will have lots of new posts :)

Today I'm going to talk about Physicians Formula which is originally an American brand. I first heard of the brand when I was in the states about 7 or 8 years ago but had never tried anything from them until now.

I had heard great things about their bronzers so I was eager to get my mitts on them. I did have trouble sourcing them online, most sites would not delivery to Ireland or any that did charged extortionate amounts for the shipping. I had checked the Physicians Formula stockists page to see which chemists near me might have them in store but there wasn't too many and I didn't want to waste my time driving around and not being able to get them. I ended up purchasing from a site called iHerb and was really happy with the service so I'll be using them again :)

First off the packaging on these is really nice especially for an affordable bronzer. It makes you want to get down to the beach PRONTO. There's a lovely ripple effect through the product which looks like waves and the smell, oh my god the smell is divine! Its like a mixture of sun cream and coconut. DELICIOUS!

These bronzers apply really nicely and last on my skin all day. The only problem I have with them is that there are only two shades to choose from and they are both super light. I'm pretty fair and I can use both the light and 'dark' as there's not much of a difference between the two.

As you can see from the swatches below these are pretty light so they unfortunately won't be suitable for anyone with medium to deep skin tones :(

Despite the colour range these are really great. The price is right (did I mention they worked out at only €12 each?!) and they sit really nicely on the skin and blend well with blush and highlight.

So I would definitely recommend Physicians Formula Butter Bronzers for anyone looking for a great Bronzer on a budget.

I'm dying to try the rest of the range. What products have you tried and what would you recommend? Leave your comments below!

Bye beauties!
