Eyebrow Threading & Tinting At The Body Shop & Giveaway!

Hey guys!

Last Saturday I had my eyebrows threaded and tinted at The Body Shop in Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork. I had been neglecting my eyebrows (which I NEVER do) for over two weeks in preparation of the visit so I hope you appreciate the before and after pictures! :) I wanted to test firstly how painful threading is and secondly how much of a difference does it really make?

For those of you who aren't familiar with threading, it is an ancient method of hair removal using a piece of twisted cotton thread. Pretty simple! Eyebrow tinting is basically dying the hairs a darker colour. Many people tint their eyelashes and eyebrows to define their face and it also reduces the amount the time you have to spend on your makeup in the morning. Its particularly effective for people with blonde or red hair as they tend to have very fair hairs on their lashes and brows. Its also great for anybody with sensitive skin as there are no products or heat applied to the skin to cause irritation.

I did have a patch test 24 hours prior to the appointment to make sure I wasn't allergic or sensitive to the tint used. Everything was perfect so I was good to go!

My appointment was with a lovely lady named Prajaya. I wasn't nervous beforehand but Prajaya had such a gentle and friendly manner she would put anyone at ease. She told me she has been threading for 11 years so she is definitely an expert in the field. We talked about how I normally do my brows and what I would like to achieve from the appointment. She showed me in the mirror what she was planning to do and what colour tint she thought would suit me best. Here's my before picture, don't judge!

Prajaya started off my cleansing the skin, I didn't wear any brow products beforehand to make things a bit easier. Then it was time for the threading! She got me to stretch my brows, its best to have the skin as taught as possible as the more you stretch the more comfortable it is. To be honest I didn't find it painful at all and it was over before I knew it. Next she applied the tint and left it on for around 5 minutes. After she removed it she gave me a lovely pressure point massage along the temples and forehead, it was bliss! The whole treatment was about 15-20 minutes so perfect for anybody on the go or as a quick treat on your lunch break.

So here is the end result :)

I have to say I absolutely LOVE the way they turned out. They are so much more defined and the tinting made a big difference on the baby hairs along the tail of the brows and my skin is so smooth. So it's pretty safe to say that I am hooked on threading. I've even made another appointment to go back in 4 weeks time. I also had a quick peak at the the Body Shop makeup while I was there, sure it would've been rude not to!

I ended up buying one of their Brow & Liner Kits in shade 02. I have to say the packaging on these is pretty sleek and I like the fact it comes with two shades. They can also be used as eye liner which is pretty cool and it comes with a retractable brow and liner brush.

So now for the exciting part of this post, GIVEAWAY TIME! The Body Shop were very generous and have given me two vouchers for threading to give away to my followers! They can be used in any of their Cork, Dublin, Limerick, Galway and Athlone stores.
