My Experience With Makeup Geek

Hey guys!

I posted a photo on my Facebook page the other day of the arrival of the products I ordered from Makeup Geek. I just wanted to write a quick post today about Makeup Geek to give you a bit of background as to how I discovered it before doing a full review of all the products.

Marlena the founder of Makeup Geek started out on YouTube with her channel under the same name back in 2008. As her channel grew and she began to get more and more subscribers she became known for her colourful makeup looks whilst using both affordable and high end products. Marlena then decided to setup her own cosmetics brand of high end quality products without the hefty price tag. As I was a subscriber to her channel from the beginning I was SO excited when she first released the news! It's great to see such an inspiring person succeed in what they love doing.

The Makeup Geek line is going from strength to strength with new products in the pipeline and an already impressive range of eyeshadows, blush, pigments, gel liners and brushes. I had been planning on placing an order for quite some time but I was waiting for the return of the blushes as nearly all of them had been out of stock for a few weeks. As soon as I got the email to let me know they were in I was online and they were in my basket! :)

Shopping on the site is easy, you can pay by card (they accept most credit/debit cards) or PayPal. Shipping is very affordable and is calculated by the weight of your overall order. Mine came to around $30 in the end but international shipping starts at as little as $6. I was expecting around a four week wait which is standard to Ireland and my package arrived in three and a half weeks. I had heard of other people in Ireland being charged customs on their order but I never did get charged for mine, hurrah!

Everything arrived safe and sound with all the products securely wrapped in bubble wrap and with a very cute note. I thought that this was a great touch and a lovely thing to see when you open your package. It makes the experience a bit more personal.

I will be doing detailed reviews on everything so keep an eye out over the next week!

Bye beauties!
