Gosh Apricot Velvet Touch Foundation Primer

Hey guys!

Are you on the search for velvety soft skin, minimised pores and no fine lines after you apply your foundation? Me too!

Today I have a review of the Gosh Apricot Velvet Touch Foundation Primer for you. I have to admit I only use primer for special occasions or when I feel my skin really needs it. I had used this primer before years ago and loved it so when we got to choose a product from Gosh at the Cork Beauty Blogger Meetup I made a beeline for it!

This primer is actually an anti-ageing primer with it's main claim to soften fine lines and minimise pores and it does just that. My skin has changed over the past few years so when I first used this product it was quite dry. Now that I am more combination (dry cheeks with an oily t-zone) I am glad to say that this primer still works for me. If you are extremely oily or have very large pores I would stay away from this as it is intended for people who are more on the dry side. I would suggest the regular Velvet Touch Foundation Primer.

I use about two pumps over my entire face before applying my foundation. When I use primers I like to apply my foundation afterwards with a beauty blender so I don't move the primer underneath around too much. The whole point is so that your makeup stays in place and is flawless so moving a brush around on top sort of defeats the purpose in my opinion. I just use my fingers, no need for fancy brushes when using primers :)

Which primers are your favourite and why? Let me know in the comment below!

Made In Chelsea NYC Inspired Nails

Hey guys!

I have been loving the new series of Made In Chelsea NYC on E4 at the moment. If any of you aren't familiar with the program it's about a group of wealthy twenty somethings living in Chelsea, London. It's so addictive! This series they are off to New York for the summer and living it up in all the posh spots of the Big Apple :)

I've been meaning to do a MIC inspired manicure for a while now so I got busy today. I decided to keep the colours fairly neutral but still glitzy. On my thumb and middle finger I used 'My Boyfriend Scales Walls' by OPI. I used Moyou London stamping kit in Tourist Collection 01 for the crown with 'Over And Over A Gwen' a red by OPI (inspired by the big apple!) and 'I Just Can't Copacabana' for the yellow taxi. The 'keep calm' stamping was done using Chanel Blue Satin. For my index finger I used by You're So Vain-illa OPI as a base and Orly Halo on top for a sparkly glitter. I used 'Don't Bossanova Me Around' by OPI as a base with Chanel Blue Satin for the strips. My pinky is a liquid sand polish by the Mariah Carey Christmas collection for OPI called Solitaire.

I love this manicure! It's super easy to do and looks great without being over the top. Have you ever done a mani inspired by your favourite tv shows? Let me know in the comments below. Made In Chelsea NYC is on Sunday at 9pm on E4, check it out!

Face Of The Day #1

Hey guys!

I thought I would do a face of the day post for you today as I've never done one before. I kept it simple but pretty with a super easy eye look which was nice and soft.

I used the ELF Flawless Finish liquid foundation in Porcelain for my base with MAC Studio Finish Concealer on any blemishes. I contoured using my Illamasqua eyeshadow in Heroine (the perfect contour shade for us pale people!) and my blush is MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty. I then set everything with my MAC Studio Fix Powder. For my lips I used my Sephora Glossy Gloss in Pink Macaroon

For my eyes I used my Too Faced Shadow Bons Bons palette. I absolutely LOVE this palette, the colours are gorgeous and so pigmented. I didn't even use a primer. Unfortunately it was a limited edition palette so it's not available anymore :(  I used Lovey Dovey all over the lid, Marzipan in the crease to blend everything out and a small bit of Coffee Bean in the outer crease to darken it slightly. I also put Liqorice Latte along the top lash line before adding mascara.

Hope you're enjoying the weekend so far!

MeMeMe Cosmetics - Beat The Blues Oyster Gold Review

Hey guys!

Today I am excited to post a review for Beat the Blues Oyster Gold * skin illuminator and highlighter by MeMeMe Cosmetics. When I saw this as part of our goodie bag from the Cork meetup a few weeks ago I immediately thought of Benefit High Beam which I'm sure you all know and love and yes my friends we have a winner!

Considering High Beam retails at €27.50 here in Ireland and Oyster Gold retails at £5.50 which is around €7 it's a no brainer really. Oyster Gold is slightly more golden than High Beam which has more of a pink undertone. Check out the swatches below!

What I love about this is that you can use it in so many different ways. I personally like to use it to highlight the top of my cheekbones, cupids bow, brow bone highlight and sometimes my nose if I'm feeling super glowy and Victoria Secret runway inspired :)  If you want something more subtle you can also mix it with with your liquid foundation and create a 'glow from within' look which is also gorgeous. I am so glad that this product did not disappoint because I would have been devastated if I hadn't liked it.

I'm am looking forward to trying some more products from MeMeMe in the future. The brand has a luxurious high end look and quality with literally (and in some cases more than) half the price, sure what more could you want? :) I think the Flawless Finish Cream Foundation and the Flawless Concealer are next on my hit list to try. I feel a haul coming on!

Have you tried anything from the range yet? If so what would you recommend?

Bye beauties!

Rimmel Cool Aqua/Topshop Nail Art Pen Mani

Hey guys!

Just a quick nail art post for you today :)

I was in the mood for rhinestones and something simple but cute and I remembered I had bought this Topshop Nail Art Pen ages ago and had forgotten to use it, oops! I also found Rimmel's Cool Aqua hidden away in the back of my nail polish stash looking very unloved which was sad, so I rescued it from polish purgatory. The pen isn't actually a pen but a white striper and the other end has individual stones to pop onto your nails for a bit of pizzazz. Cool Aqua is a lovely cornflower blue. I like the brushes on the Rimmel Pro polishes, they are quite big and make the polish easy to apply.

Hope your enjoying your weekend! Let me know what colours you are wearing for your Saturday night out.

Bye beauties!
