Realash 4 Week Update

Hey guys!

About four weeks ago I started using Realash Advanced Eyelash Serum so I'm back with a quick update to let you know how I've been getting on. If you missed the first post click here to refresh your memory!

So after four weeks of applying the serum every night before bed I have noticed a difference already. My lashes are considerably longer and have started to fill out more. I still have another four weeks of recommended use so I'm excited to notice even more of a difference in the coming weeks. I am very happy with the results and will be back with another Realash update in four weeks time.

Without mascara
Without mascara
With eyeshadow and mascara

In the meantime if you are interested in trying out Realash for yourself click here for more info or take a look at their YouTube page.

DiorSkin Nude Shimmer Amber 002

Hey guys!

How many of you were lucky enough to get your hands on Dior's Amber Lights highlighter before it was discontinued? Unfortunately I wasn't and had given up on it until I was browsing at my local Dior counter and spotted the DiorSkin Nude Shimmers. I explained to the lovely guy at the counter about my unsuccessful search for the sought after Amber Diamonds and after having a good laugh about how sad we both were for being obsessed with it he suggested I take a look at 002. It's not a replacement by any means but it is a stunning highlighter. There is also shade Pink 001 which is a more pinky highlighter rather than a golden bronze.

There are four sections which can be used on their own or you can swirl your brush in all four which gives a gorgeous slightly bronzy glow. It is much more subtle than Amber Diamonds but It's actually a lot more wearable. I've been wearing mine pretty much everyday since I got it! Like all Dior products it is pricey coming in at €53.50, ouch! As I use it everyday I can almost justify it but it is madness really.

The DiorSkin Nude Shimmers all come with a small kabuki brush and a velvet pouch which is super fancy pants altogether. The brush isn't half bad, normally I always throw away any brush that comes with a product like that but its really soft and dense and applies the product quite softly which is perfect for a daytime look. If you want a more intense glow you can use a smaller more precise brush. I love the packaging, the powder itself has a very cool mirrored quilted effect and the initials CD are embossed on the bottom of the kabuki brush. The powder also feels quite heavy to hold, which to me is always a sign of a high end luxury product.

Although I adore my Illamasqua Gleam cream highlighter I think this may have replaced that for now! :) What are your go-to highlighters for everyday or special occasions and what is the most you have ever spent on a makeup product? Leave me a comment below!

Realash Serum

Hey guys!

I've always wanted perfect lashes, don't we all? Alas mine are, well to be honest, a bit of a let down. While they are dark they are very sparse and even with mascara on they're not anything to write home about, they're just meh. MEH! They don't hold a curl very well either which makes it impossible to find mascaras that actually work well on me. They are also very weak so if I wear a waterproof mascara or liner that's hard to remove, half of my lashes fall out in the process!

I had heard about Realash before on Youtube and was always curious to know whether it actually worked or not. The serum (which looks like a clear liner) claims to make your lashes 25% longer and 85% thicker after 8-12 weeks of use. It's very simple to use. After you have cleansed your eyes at night and removed all makeup, you apply the serum like you would a liquid liner onto the top lash line staying close to the root. That's it! I love the packaging, it's very sleek and the presentation box it came in was so cute! I love when companies take the time to package their products nicely, it makes such a difference when you open them up :)

As you can see from the pictures below my lashes need a bit of TLC so I really hope this works! I'll do a comparison in 4 weeks time to see if there's been any improvement :)

MeMeMe Cosmetics Arch Angel

Hey guys!

I'm on a mission to get the perfect brows. My problem is that mine are so crazy and wild that it takes a lot to tame them! I do have a whole brow routine even before I use any products on them so If you want to know more just leave a comment below.

I use a brow gel everyday once I've used my brow powders and have them looking somewhat normal :) I have been using the MeMeMe Cosmetics Arch Angel* over the last few weeks instead of my Essence Lash and Brow Gel. The handy thing about this is that there's a tinted brow gel on one end and a highlighter on the other, great to pop in your bag if your on the go.

I have very dark eyebrows so the colour of the brow gel on this is perfect for me. There is a tiny little brush so you can brush your hairs into place while giving them a bit of colour at the same time. The staying power is quite good compared to the Essence gel. The highlighter is a lovely creamy texture which isn't too 'in your face'. I place it on the highest point under my brow and then blend with my finger.

All in all this is a great product. The only downside is that there is that it is only available in one colour that is only suitable for brunettes. Blondes and red heads will have to wait a little longer until they bring out more colours. As soon as they do I'll let you know! The package is also gorgeous. I love the design on the brow gel end, it's super pretty and girly :)

I have yet to try the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow products but I'd imagine this would be pretty similar to their brow gels only that this one has the added bonus of the highlighter.

What are your favourite brow products? Leave your recommendations in the comments below!

Gosh Apricot Velvet Touch Foundation Primer

Hey guys!

Are you on the search for velvety soft skin, minimised pores and no fine lines after you apply your foundation? Me too!

Today I have a review of the Gosh Apricot Velvet Touch Foundation Primer for you. I have to admit I only use primer for special occasions or when I feel my skin really needs it. I had used this primer before years ago and loved it so when we got to choose a product from Gosh at the Cork Beauty Blogger Meetup I made a beeline for it!

This primer is actually an anti-ageing primer with it's main claim to soften fine lines and minimise pores and it does just that. My skin has changed over the past few years so when I first used this product it was quite dry. Now that I am more combination (dry cheeks with an oily t-zone) I am glad to say that this primer still works for me. If you are extremely oily or have very large pores I would stay away from this as it is intended for people who are more on the dry side. I would suggest the regular Velvet Touch Foundation Primer.

I use about two pumps over my entire face before applying my foundation. When I use primers I like to apply my foundation afterwards with a beauty blender so I don't move the primer underneath around too much. The whole point is so that your makeup stays in place and is flawless so moving a brush around on top sort of defeats the purpose in my opinion. I just use my fingers, no need for fancy brushes when using primers :)

Which primers are your favourite and why? Let me know in the comment below!

Made In Chelsea NYC Inspired Nails

Hey guys!

I have been loving the new series of Made In Chelsea NYC on E4 at the moment. If any of you aren't familiar with the program it's about a group of wealthy twenty somethings living in Chelsea, London. It's so addictive! This series they are off to New York for the summer and living it up in all the posh spots of the Big Apple :)

I've been meaning to do a MIC inspired manicure for a while now so I got busy today. I decided to keep the colours fairly neutral but still glitzy. On my thumb and middle finger I used 'My Boyfriend Scales Walls' by OPI. I used Moyou London stamping kit in Tourist Collection 01 for the crown with 'Over And Over A Gwen' a red by OPI (inspired by the big apple!) and 'I Just Can't Copacabana' for the yellow taxi. The 'keep calm' stamping was done using Chanel Blue Satin. For my index finger I used by You're So Vain-illa OPI as a base and Orly Halo on top for a sparkly glitter. I used 'Don't Bossanova Me Around' by OPI as a base with Chanel Blue Satin for the strips. My pinky is a liquid sand polish by the Mariah Carey Christmas collection for OPI called Solitaire.

I love this manicure! It's super easy to do and looks great without being over the top. Have you ever done a mani inspired by your favourite tv shows? Let me know in the comments below. Made In Chelsea NYC is on Sunday at 9pm on E4, check it out!

Face Of The Day #1

Hey guys!

I thought I would do a face of the day post for you today as I've never done one before. I kept it simple but pretty with a super easy eye look which was nice and soft.

I used the ELF Flawless Finish liquid foundation in Porcelain for my base with MAC Studio Finish Concealer on any blemishes. I contoured using my Illamasqua eyeshadow in Heroine (the perfect contour shade for us pale people!) and my blush is MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty. I then set everything with my MAC Studio Fix Powder. For my lips I used my Sephora Glossy Gloss in Pink Macaroon

For my eyes I used my Too Faced Shadow Bons Bons palette. I absolutely LOVE this palette, the colours are gorgeous and so pigmented. I didn't even use a primer. Unfortunately it was a limited edition palette so it's not available anymore :(  I used Lovey Dovey all over the lid, Marzipan in the crease to blend everything out and a small bit of Coffee Bean in the outer crease to darken it slightly. I also put Liqorice Latte along the top lash line before adding mascara.

Hope you're enjoying the weekend so far!

MeMeMe Cosmetics - Beat The Blues Oyster Gold Review

Hey guys!

Today I am excited to post a review for Beat the Blues Oyster Gold * skin illuminator and highlighter by MeMeMe Cosmetics. When I saw this as part of our goodie bag from the Cork meetup a few weeks ago I immediately thought of Benefit High Beam which I'm sure you all know and love and yes my friends we have a winner!

Considering High Beam retails at €27.50 here in Ireland and Oyster Gold retails at £5.50 which is around €7 it's a no brainer really. Oyster Gold is slightly more golden than High Beam which has more of a pink undertone. Check out the swatches below!

Left: One swipe
Right: Blended
Oyster Gold blended

What I love about this is that you can use it in so many different ways. I personally like to use it to highlight the top of my cheekbones, cupids bow, brow bone highlight and sometimes my nose if I'm feeling super glowy and Victoria Secret runway inspired :)  If you want something more subtle you can also mix it with with your liquid foundation and create a 'glow from within' look which is also gorgeous. I am so glad that this product did not disappoint because I would have been devastated if I hadn't liked it.

I'm am looking forward to trying some more products from MeMeMe in the future. The brand has a luxurious high end look and quality with literally (and in some cases more than) half the price, sure what more could you want? :) I think the Flawless Finish Cream Foundation and the Flawless Concealer are next on my hit list to try. I feel a haul coming on!

Have you tried anything from the range yet? If so what would you recommend?

Bye beauties!

Rimmel Cool Aqua/Topshop Nail Art Pen Mani

Hey guys!

Just a quick nail art post for you today :)

I was in the mood for rhinestones and something simple but cute and I remembered I had bought this Topshop Nail Art Pen ages ago and had forgotten to use it, oops! I also found Rimmel's Cool Aqua hidden away in the back of my nail polish stash looking very unloved which was sad, so I rescued it from polish purgatory. The pen isn't actually a pen but a white striper and the other end has individual stones to pop onto your nails for a bit of pizzazz. Cool Aqua is a lovely cornflower blue. I like the brushes on the Rimmel Pro polishes, they are quite big and make the polish easy to apply.

Hope your enjoying your weekend! Let me know what colours you are wearing for your Saturday night out.

Bye beauties!

Paese Cosmetics Summertime Nail Color Collection

Hey guys!

I know I've been bombarding you with nail posts the past few days but I cant help it! It's summer and those nails need to be painted pretty colours :) Today I have three polishes from Paese Cosmetics Summertime Nail Colour Collection* to share with you. If you are unfamiliar with Paese Cosmetics they are a Polish brand which have been around for a few years. To be honest I had never heard of them but when I saw the packaging I was hooked straight away. Paese are a very affordable brand which are very comparable to Inglot but not as expensive if you can imagine that. There are ten polishes in total for this collection, all of which are bright, vibrant and would remind you of high gloss rainbow! When I saw these three colours I knew straight away that I had to do a Ruffian style manicure with them.

For the little half moon at the top I used number 350 Golden Sun Shimmer which is a gorgeous orangey yellow gold glitter. The glitter in this polish is very finely milled so it isn't chunky in any way and sits very smoothly on the nails. This colour would be gorgeous with a very dark purple or navy in a Ruffian style also. For the main colour I used number 349 Blue Bell which is stunning cream blue. This is my favourite out of the three. As an accent nail I used number 344 Just Orange which is a bright orange cream with a hint of coral about it. I love this kind of shade for the summer as it's really fun and flattering with a tan. The consistency of all three polishes was great and all were opaque in two coats. If I was careful with the cream polishes I probably could have got away with only one coat but I was so excited to try them out I was too impatient to be careful! :)

These polishes along with all the other products are available online or at selected stockists. If you have tried Paese before and have any recommendations for me please let me know.

Bye beauties!

OPI Coca Cola Collection

Hey guys!

I have yet another OPI mini haul for you! :)
Today I have three polishes from the Coca Cola Collection which was released a few weeks ago. I have to say when I saw that this collection was to be released I was pretty excited. I am OBSESSED with vanilla Coke which is so hard to find here in Ireland. So whenever I see it I stock up! The collection is inspired by different flavours of Coke, Sprite and Fanta as well as the one and only Coke original. I didn't actually pick up the Coca Cola Red as I have similar colours in my collection already.

First up I have You're So Vain-illa which of course is inspired by my beloved Vanilla Coke. This is a gorgeous pale cream nude which would suit everybody. This is obviously my favourite out of the collection, not only because of the name but because the polish is amazing. I have to say out of the three polishes I picked up, the formula was consistently good on all of them. This colour would be great for everyday or even for a bride or special occasion if you were looking to wear a colour but nothing too obvious.

The next polish I picked up is Sorry I'm Fizzy Today which is a creamy pale pink. It kind of reminds me of pink lemonade. It is quite strange that this is inspired by Vanilla Coke as the packaging here is red and cream but hey, it's a nice colour so I don't mind! This as an accent nail paired with You're So Vain-illa is actually a gorgeous combination. The picture below is with two coats of polish.

Finally I have A Grape Affair which is a deep, dark vampy creamy purple. It is quite dark and from far away looks black on the nail but up close you can definitely tell that it's purple. This shade is actually inspired by Fanta Grape which I have never heard of or seen before so this might just be available in the USA. Let me know if you've ever come across it! There is a lovely shine to this polish without a top coat. The picture below shows two coats of polish without a top coat.

The other colours in the collection either didn't appeal to me or I had something similar already so couldn't justify buying them. If you are looking for that perfect red Coca Cola Red may just be what your looking for. I'll link the others colours below if you are interested. As always I bought my OPI polish at Hennessy Hair and Beauty

Which colour stands out to you the most from this collection and will you be buying any?

Bye beauties!

Get Cherried Away - inspired by Cherry Coke
Green On The Runway - inspired by Sprite
Orange You Stylish - inspired by Fanta Orange
Today I Accomplished Zero - inspired by Coke Zero
Turn On The Haute Light - inspired by Diet Coke

OPI Summer Neons 2014

Hey guys!

So today I have two polishes from OPI's summer neon collection to share with you. I'm giving away the complete mini set as part of my July giveaway so click here to enter! :)

I only picked up two polishes as they were the ones that stood out to me the most. They are SO much brighter in real life but it doesn't translate in the pictures. There are six shades in the collection altogether.

First up I have Life Gave Me Lemons which is a yellowy lime green. The formula was great, nice and creamy and easy to work with. The picture below is with two coats of polish and nothing underneath. This is SUPER bright but unfortunately the camera doesn't pick it up. Bummer!

You Are SO Outta Lime! is a nice bright creme green. I liked that the colours in this collection weren't highlighter neon colours as they can be hard to wear sometimes. Again the formula was brilliant and opaque after two coats.

There are shimmer neons in the collection also but I'm not a huge fan of shimmery polishes to begin with but they would be nice if you were looking for a change. I'll have the Coca Cola collection for OPI in a few days for you if your looking for colours that aren't so bright! I purchase all my OPI polishes at Hennessy Hair and Beauty in Cork.

Bye beauties!

I think it's important to mention that I did purchase everything below out of my own money and was not sent any products from companies. I ended up buying two of the full sized ones myself, pretty! Next we have three E.L.F blushes in Candid Coral, Giddy Gold and Twinkle Pink. These are gorgeous summer shades with a lovely shimmer so they can also be used as a highlight if you prefer. I have two E.L.F Lip Balm Tints in Peach and Nude and also two E.L.F. Moisturising Lipsticks in Pink Minx and Party In The Buff. Lastly from E.L.F I have a Mineral Lip Liner in Peachy which is like a coral/nude colour. As you can tell I love E.L.F products!

Cork Beauty Blogger Meetup Part 3 - Shiseido, Gosh And MeMeMe

Hey guys!

So this is the final installment of the Cork beauty blogger meetup. If you missed Part 1 or Part 2 click on the links to catch up! After Debenhams we all headed up to Costigans bar on Washington Street for our last few surprises. First we were treated to a skincare demo from Emma at Shiseido. She explained Shiseidos new products and we played with a few testers ourselves. The new IBUKI range are now available at Brown Thomas and they have a special offer running until Saturday 26th July where if you spend over €75 on Shiseido products you receive a full size cleanser which is pretty good. Shiseidos products are quite luxurious and feel amazing on the skin. I never knew that they are the oldest cosmetic house in the world, quite impressive! We were given a goodie bag packed full of lovely products to test out so I will be doing a review in the next few weeks and let you know what I think :)

The lovely Emma during the demonstration

Next the lovely Geraldine and Gráinne from GOSH Cosmetics talked us through some of the new products for the summer and showed us how to get a bronzed summer makeup look. They have excellent primers for different skin types and a new CC Cream which has a nice coverage. We were lucky enough to be able to pick out a product each to take home. I made a beeline for the Velvet Touch Anti Wrinkle Primer
as I'd used it before and it's amazing! The new Lip Lacquers also look great. I'll need to pick up some and give them a go!

Gráinne achieving a sun kissed look

Last but certainly not least we headed upstairs to MeMeMe Cosmetics who had put a lot of effort into making the room look incredible! All the products looked so inviting, a beauty bloggers paradise! I had never tried anything from their range so I was excited to play and test out a few products. The Flawless Finish Cream Foundation really caught my eye so I will definitely be getting one as soon as my current foundation runs out. The Shimmer Stacks looked like great dupes for the Bobbi Brown ones and they also had Light Me Up Lip Gloss which are identical to the Color Your Smile Gloss. We also got a goodie bag with a highlighter and brow product inside! MeMeMe have lots of stockists in pharmacies nationwide so if you want to know if they are in your area let me know in the comments below or on Facebook and Twitter

Lovely MeMeMe goodies!!

As we were leaving, Sarah and Fiona gave us one last surprise with yet ANOTHER two bags filled with all sorts of beauty products! It was like Christmas!

I had SUCH a great time and want to thank Sarah and Fiona again for everything. Ye really did go above and behind for us! :)

Hopefully there will be another meetup after Christmas. I think everybody would be up for that! I will be doing reviews for the products we received and I will list in the post that it was from the meetup. I only ever do honest reviews so if I don't like something you will hear about it!

Hope you enjoyed reading and I'll be back with some nail polish reviews in a few days.

Bye beauties!

Cork Beauty Blogger Meetup Part 2 - Debenhams

Hey guys!

So this is part two of the Cork beauty blogger meetup, click here to see part one if you missed it. So after a great start at Lush we headed over to Debenhams on Patrick Street for more fun. There we were greeted by Paul, Alma and Emma who brought us upstairs to a private room for some yummy cupcakes, prosecco and a talk about the activities they had planned for us.

We were put into groups, I was part of the Brow Beauties (they had cute beauty names for all the groups!) along with Stephanie from Polished and Primed and Lara from Letters By Lara. We had a demo from Clarins to start us off with an introduction to their new products and a goodie bag, can't wait to try them out! Then it was off downstairs to the beauty hall for a beauty treasure hunt! :) We had a chance to win a HUGE hamper full of beauty goodies and we had to tweet pictures of certain products using the hashtags #corkmeetup and #beautifix so if you saw those hashtags floating around on Saturday now you know what it was about!

So we set out to the Benefit counter which was our first stop. There we were given a demo of the new 'They're Real! Push Up Liner' by Lynn. She also showed us the mascara and remover to go with it. This stuff is like concrete! It does not budge so it is essential to get the remover if you are going to purchase either of them. The remover is like a cream that you massage onto the eyes to break the product down. You can then wipe it away with a damp cotton pad.

Next we were off to Urban Decay to test out the new 'Flushed' palettes. Three more colours were launched due to the success of the first palette so now there are four to choose from. They consist of a bronzer, a blush and a highlighter. My favourite was the shade 'Native' as it is the palest option for us ghosties. I also tried out the Chill setting spray. I have just run out of my All Nighter and wanted to try out Chill before I purchase another to see if I preferred it. I think I'm going to go with the All Nighter....if it ain't broke don't fix it! :)

Then it was Elizabeth Arden's turn to demo their new 'Flawless Future Collection' skin care products. This was an exclusive as we got to try and test out the products before they were released which was awesome. There are three new products in the range which are the Flawless Future Powered By Ceramide Caplet Serum, Flawless Future Powered By Ceramide Moisture Cream SPF 30 and Flawless Future Powered By Ceramide Eye Gel. I will do a separate post on this collection as I'm sure you'll want to hear more about it.

My favourite counter Dior was next. I crumble whenever I see a Dior stand, the products are gorgeous and I'm a sucker for the slick packaging. Brian, Dior's makeup artist talked us through the new Dior Addict range which is AMAZING by the way! They have three new Dior Addict It-Lash mascara and liner in purple, pink and blue, the black is already in the permanent collction. These babies are pigmented let me tell you! They also have the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer, Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum and the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks. The Addict Fluid Stick in 575 Wonderland was definitely my favourite out of everything Brian showed us. I was so busy playing with all the products that I only took one photograph so apologies for that!

Lancome was calling us next so we popped over for more information on the new Génifique collection. These products have been fourteen years in the making (yes you read that correctly!) and is reflected in the price tag, ouch. The Advanced Génifque serum helps to restore skins youthfulness and improve the signs of ageing. The Génifique Yuex Light Pearl is a new eye illuminating serum with a roller massage ball applicator which helps to fight under eye bags and dark circles. The Génifiqure Eye Cream has a refreshing gel texture and is also very cooling on the eyes. After testing this on my hand you could really see a brightening effect on the skin.

Finally our last stop was Clinique for a demo on their three step system. They have introduced a new product called the Clinque Smart Custom Serum which claims to understand your skins past and change it's appearance in the future. Five years of research have gone into the making of this and it targets lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, radiance and firming. It is available both a 30ml or 50ml bottle.

When we had finished with all the counters we headed back upstairs to find even more surprises! There were goodie bags for all of us filled with tons of products along with a €50 voucher to spend there and then on ANYTHING we wanted in the beauty hall! There were  screams of delight and shock all round! :) Obviously I headed straight back down to Dior to pick up the Amber 002 Nude Shimmer Instant Illuminating Power and the Dior Sailor Vernis Nail Polish. I will do a separate post on these beauties soon.

Paul, Alma and Emma went above and beyond to make our experience at Debenhams so much fun so a big thank you is in order! :) Also thanks again to Sarah and Fiona for organising the event and for everybody at all the counters for being so helpful on the day.

Part three of the meet up which is the final installment will be up in a few days so keep your eyes peeled to see what we got up to after visiting Debenhams! All products mentioned are listed below for more information.

Bye beauties!
